Guyana Project for People with Disabilities Completes its Sixth Phase

John, his wife Ursula, and their daughter Marianne

By David Hinton

Planning for this phase of the project began when we were last in Guyana (February / March, 2008) and was confirmed shortly thereafter with our in-country partner, the National Commission on Disability (NCD).

This phase of the project will deal with Fund Raising and Fund Development utilizing, as the main instructors, the Director of Fund Development for the Canadian Paraplegic Association (CPA), Mr. Robert White, and the Chairperson of the CPA Fund Development Committee, Mr. Edward Joyce.  Mr. White apart from working for the CPA also teaches a course on Fund Development at a College in Ottawa.  Mr. Joyce up until recently was an elected member of the House of Assembly in Newfoundland and Labrador.
